Alyssa Milano Writes Open Letter to Matt Damon About Sexual Misconduct

Alyssa Milano is speaking out to respond to Matt Damon‘s latest comments on sexual misconduct.

The Oscar-winning star recently gave an interview in which he said that he believes “there’s a spectrum of behavior… There’s a difference between patting someone on the butt and rape or child molestation, right? Both of those behaviors need to be confronted and eradicated without question, but they shouldn’t be conflated.”

Matt‘s ex-girlfriend Minnie Driver is one of the many people who have slammed his comments and now Alyssa is adding her thoughts.

“Dear Matt Damon, It’s the micro that makes the macro. We are in a ‘culture of outrage’ because the magnitude of rage is, in fact, overtly outrageous. And it is righteous,” Alyssa began her open letter on Twitter.

Matt Damon Thinks Settlements for Sexual Harassment Will Go Away

Matt Damon is opening up further about sexual harassment in Hollywood and what the current climate means for the future.

The 47-year-old Downsizing actor was asked what he thinks will change after the past two months of women and men coming forward about incidents of harassment, assault, and more.

“I think the day of the confidentiality agreements is over. I think it’s just completely over. Ten years ago, you made a claim against me and I had a big movie coming out, OK? I have $100 million or I have a movie that is personally important to me coming out, and close to the release of that film, you say, ‘Matt Damon grabbed my butt and stuck his tongue down my throat.’ We would then go to mediation and organize a settlement,” Matt said in an interview with ABC News.

“I’d go, ‘I don’t want this out there. Peter’s going to go out and talk to the press and run his mouth, and it’s going to be overshadowing the opening of this movie. How much money do you want?’ The lawyers would get together, and they do this cost-benefit analysis, and they’d go, ‘Oh, this is what it’s worth.’ And I look at the number and go, ‘OK, I’ll pay it, but you can never talk about this again. You’re f—— lying about this, but never talk about this again,’” he added.

“Now … with social media, these stories get — it’s like they get gasoline poured on them. So the moment a claim is made, if you make that same claim today to me, I would be scorched earth. I’d go, ‘I don’t care if it costs $10 million to fight this in court with you for 10 years, you are not taking my name from me. You are not taking my name and my reputation from me. I’ve worked too hard for it. And I earned it. You can’t just blow me up like that.’ So I think once a claim is made, there will no longer be settlements. That’s just my prediction, I mean, just based on what I’ve seen,” Matt concluded.

Matt previously opened up about the Weinstein scandal and how he knew about Gwyneth Paltrow being harassed.

Matt Damon Explains Why Kids Haven't Seen 'Good Will Hunting' Yet on 'The Late Show'!

Matt Damon made an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday evening (December 11) and explained why he hasn’t shown his kids his Oscar-winning film Good Will Hunting yet.

The 47-year-old Downsizing star told host Stephen that his children haven’t seen Good Will Hunting, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, because the film has so much cursing in it.

In fact, Matt went on to explain that the reason the film has an R rating is because it contained too many f-bombs, over a hundred more than what was allowed for a PG-13 film. “At the time, you were allowed to say the f-word three times,” Matt revealed. “I said, ‘OK, how many are we off by?’ They said, ‘You go over by 145.’”

“Being from Boston, I don’t think we realized how much we swore,” Matt added. “It was literally a placeholder. You’d go, ‘F–k, oh, I know what I wanted to tell you.’ When Ben [Affleck] and I wrote it, we would do the lines together and transcribe it.”

The 44-year-old A Series of Unfortunate Events actor and the 47-year-old Jason Bourne star hit the red carpet at the event held at AMC Lincoln Square Theater on Monday night (December 11) in New York City.

Neil went for a grey and black look, while Matt opted for a blue suit with a tie.

They were joined by their co-star Hong Chau, who stunned in a black and white polka-dot dress, white accessories, and red lipstick.

Downsizing is a social satire in which a guy realizes he would have a better life if he were to shrink himself.

“It’s unlike any other movie I’ve ever seen, and that’s why I love it so much,” Matt told Parade. “I guess I’d say it’s a satire. It takes such a crazy left turn in the middle, and I really love that. I read something someone wrote about it the other day, which said something like, ‘I’ll give you a million dollars if, at the start of the movie, you can tell me where it’s gonna end.’”

Don’t miss Downsizing when it hits theaters on December 22! You can watch the latest trailer here.
