Former 'American Idol' Winners Kick Off Auditions for ABC Reboot at Disney World

Ruben Studdard, Jordin Sparks, and Kris Allen cut the ribbon to kick off auditions for ABC’s reboot of American Idol on Thursday (August 17) at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

The thee former winners were joined by Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse for the celebratory moment.

While the auditions have begun, these are not the auditions in front of the official judging panel. The show has yet to lock in all three judges and only Katy Perry has signed on so far.

Charlie Puth In Front-Running For American Idol Judge Spot

Charlie Puth might be headed to American Idol!

The 25-year-old entertainer is one of the front-runners to be a judge on the show’s upcoming revival.

Charlie is reportedly in advanced talks with the series, along with Lionel Richie.

The duo would be joining fellow judge Katy Perry, as well as Ryan Seacrest, who recently signed on to host.

ABC is also debating whether to have four judges on the panel.

Other candidates for the spot includes Luke Bryan and Idol veteran Keith Urban.

Ryan Seacrest just confirmed that he will definitely be hosting the American Idol reboot!

On Live! with Kelly and Ryan, Kelly and Ryan made the announcement after teasing some big news.

Ryan Seacrest is returning as the host of American Idol!” Kelly said on the show

“I am so excited. It’s gonna be the best time,” Ryan added.

Ryan of course was the original host on the show way back to season one with Kelly Clarkson!

Katy Perry will be one of the hosts on the judging panel when the show returns next year on ABC.

Lionel Richie is reportedly in the running for a seat on the American Idol judging panel!

The legendary 67-year-old entertainer is becoming a popular choice with the execs at the ABC reboot because of his credibility, according to TMZ.

Katy Perry is already confirmed to be a judge on the upcoming season and former Idol contestant Chris Daughtry was rumored to be joining the panel, but that has not been confirmed at this point.

'American Idol' Auditions Will Take Place in 19 Cities!

Singers who want to audition for the upcoming return of American Idol will have many opportunities to do so as auditions will be held in 19 cities around the country this summer!

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the first episode of Idol airing, ABC just announced the dates of the auditions for the reboot of the singing competition.

Katy Perry, who will be a judge on the new season, announced the news on Good Morning America on Monday (June 12).

“I’m so excited to be apart of the search for the next American Idol,” Katy said. “Auditions are open. So what are you waiting for? I want to hear from you! Head to AmericanIdol.com for all the details.”

Orlando Bloom Thinks Katy Perry Will Be Fantastic on 'Idol'

It seems that Orlando Bloom is one of the last people to find out that his ex-girlfriend Katy Perry will be a judge on the reboot of American Idol!

The 40-year-old actor was asked to give his thoughts on her new gig during an interview with Extra at the premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

“I’m sure she’ll be great. I didn’t know she was doing that… Well, then, she’ll be fantastic. She’s great at everything she does,” Orly told host Mario Lopez.
