Jason Sudeikis Disqualified From 'Last Man on Earth' Emmy Consideration

Jason Sudeikis will not be competing for best guest actor at the 2016 Emmy Awards after his role in Fox’s comedy The Last Man on Earth was entered into the wrong category.

The 40-year-old actor appeared in 11 of the season’s 18 eligible episodes, which is more than the 50 percent or less required to be considered a guest actor, Variety reports.

Jason’s role as Mike Miller falls into the supporting actor category, but cannot be changed since ballots have already been distributed, per Academy rules.

The rule was instituted after the 2015 Emmy Awards, when Uzo Aduba won in the guest actress category despite appearing in all but two of Orange is the New Black’s first season episodes.
